Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the most affordable ways to improve how your smile looks. It’s also one of the most requested services we offer at Columbine. Most everyone knows the value of having beautiful white teeth. While there are many over-the-counter teeth whitening products available, these solutions simply fall short when it comes to results. Before and After Cosmetic Dentistry.

Even if you do a great job with your oral hygiene and see your dentist regularly for exams and cleanings, your teeth can still become discolored, darkened, and stained. There are many causes of stained and discolored teeth including:

  • Improper oral hygiene
  • Tobacco usage
  • Eating & drinking teeth staining foods & beverages
  • Childhood medications
  • Illnesses
  • Genetics

Regardless of what has caused your teeth to look dull, stained or discolored, we have the right method for you that will leave your teeth considerably whiter. Our most popular teeth whitening treatment involves applying a professional-strength hydrogen peroxide whitening solution to the teeth that removes discoloration and staining. After just one visit with us, you can leave our office with teeth that are several shades whiter.

If you’re ready to get the white and bright smile you deserve, call us today for a whitening evaluation!

There are many reasons why people lose their natural teeth including periodontal disease, severe tooth decay, and injuries to the mouth. If you’re missing several of your natural teeth, we can restore your smile with dentures so you can smile broadly once again and enjoy eating all your favorite foods. Today’s dentures are much more attractive and comfortable than the dentures used in the past. (Watch Video)

At Columbine Dental, we offer two types of dentures:

  • Complete dentures that replace all the teeth in one arch
  • Partial dentures that replace multiple missing teeth

When you visit us for dentures, we’ll provide you with a thorough exam and then recommend the right type of dentures that will best meet your needs. Once you have your new dentures, it will take a little time to get used to them. Speaking and eating may feel awkward at first, but before you know it, everything will return to normal.

If you’re displeased with your smile because your teeth are damaged, or don’t look their best, veneers may be a good cosmetic dentistry solution for you. Veneers are very thin, semi-translucent shells made from a porcelain material that are bonded to the visible surfaces of teeth. Some of the most common cosmetic issues veneers can help with include:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Cracked and chipped teeth
  • Stained or discolored teeth that don’t respond well to teeth whitening
  • Slightly Crooked or misshapen teeth

In most cases, it only takes two visits with our Ken Caryl cosmetic dentist to place veneers. Instead of having to undergo complex dental or orthodontic treatment to make subtle improvements to your smile, veneers may be a more economical solution. Please contact us if you have any questions about veneers and we’ll gladly answer them! (Watch Video)

Crowns and Bridges

At Columbine Dental, we offer dental restorations that look and feel natural and are almost undetectable to others. If you have damaged or missing teeth, the crowns and bridges we offer can repair or replace those teeth so your smile looks brand new. (Watch Video)

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap is used to cover a natural tooth that’s been damaged by decay or injury. While crowns can be made from various materials like gold and acrylic resin, porcelain is the most common material used because it has a very natural appearance. When you visit us for a crown, you can expect the following to occur:

  • The tooth will be numbed and prepared for the crown
  • An impression will be taken of the tooth. The impression is then sent to an off-site lab and used to create your new crown. This takes about one to two weeks.
  • A temporary crown will be made out of acrylic resin and fitted onto the tooth. This temporary crown will remain in place until your new permanent crown arrives at our office.
  • When we receive your crown from the lab, we’ll ask you to come in so we can cement it into place. Your cosmetic dentist will make sure that your new crown looks, feels, and fits correctly.

The entire process of getting a crown takes two to three visits with us over a three to four week period. Once your crown is in place, you can expect it to last a lifetime if you take good care. This means you’ll need to do a great job with your oral hygiene and visit us regularly for routine checkups and cleanings.

A dental bridge is a fixed appliance used to fill a space caused by a missing tooth. When a bridge is in place, it prevents the remaining teeth from shifting out of place and keeps them healthy and strong. A bridge is joined permanently to neighboring teeth or dental implants using metal bands and resin.

There are three types of dental bridges. The type used is dependent upon the suitability of the teeth it is to be fixed to, and where in the mouth it’s needed.

Fixed bridge: This is the most common type of bridge that’s permanent. With a fixed bridge, the false tooth or pontic to two crowns, which fit over the existing teeth and hold the bridge in place.

Maryland bridge: This type of bridge is attached to the adjacent teeth using metal bands and resin only, rather than crowns. A Maryland bridge is commonly used to replace front teeth where stress is minimal due to it not being as strong as a fixed bridge.

Cantilever Bridges: This type of bridge is used if there are only healthy teeth available on one side of the gap. A cantilever bridge is anchored to one or more teeth on just one side. This makes it only suitable for front teeth where the stress exerted is minimal.
